Curriculum

Comprehensive academic programs rooted in Islamic values and designed to inspire lifelong learning.

Programs & Materials

Valley Crescent School integrates rigorous academics with Islamic education, ensuring students grow intellectually and spiritually while meeting California State Standards and Common Core benchmarks.

Kindergarten

Our Extended-Day Kindergarten provides a nurturing, full-day experience that encourages early literacy, numeracy, and social growth while maintaining small teacher-student ratios for personalized attention.

  • Focus on early reading and phonics development
  • Interactive, play-based learning environment
  • Daily moral and Islamic story sessions

Elementary (Grades 1–4)

Students follow Houghton Mifflin curriculum materials aligned with California State Standards. Core subjects include English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies — complemented by Qur’an and Arabic studies.

Middle School (Grades 5–8)

Grades 5–8 follow the Common Core framework with subject-specialist teachers. Emphasis is placed on project-based learning, leadership, and real-world application of knowledge.

Islamic Studies & Arabic

  • Islamic Studies: Using I Love Islam and Learning Islam series to instill faith and character.
  • Arabic Language: Based on Iqra’ Curriculum with focus on Qur’anic fluency, writing, and comprehension.

Standardized Testing

Students participate in CTBS-TerraNova assessments to evaluate academic performance and progress in core areas such as Science, Math, Reading, and Social Studies.

Together, these programs ensure a balanced education — one that builds intellect, strengthens faith, and prepares students to thrive academically and spiritually.
